Privacy Policy

Last updated: 22 August 2026

Neoma is built to keep your knowledge private by default. The short version: the Neoma application collects nothing about you and sends nothing anywhere.

The application

Whether you use the web app, the desktop app (macOS, Windows, Linux) or the iOS app, Neoma runs entirely on your own device:

Because your notes never leave your device, we have no access to them and could not read, share or sell them even if we wanted to.

Your data

Your notes, vaults and settings are yours. They live on your device (and, if you chose a local folder, as ordinary files you already control). You can back them up, move them, or delete them at any time using your normal file tools, there is nothing to "export" because nothing was ever locked away.

This website

This marketing website (neomadev.app) is a set of static pages served by our hosting provider. We do not add analytics or tracking cookies to it. Our hosting provider may automatically record standard technical request logs (such as IP address and user-agent) for security and reliability, as described in their own privacy policy. Downloads of the desktop apps are served by GitHub from the project's Releases page and are subject to GitHub's privacy policy.

Third-party services

Neoma does not embed third-party trackers, advertising, fonts or scripts. The only external interactions are ones you explicitly initiate. For example, clicking a download link that takes you to GitHub.

Changes

If this policy changes, the "last updated" date above will change with it. The full history of this page is public in the open-source repository.

Questions about privacy can be raised as an issue on the GitHub repository.

For the precise, verifiable version of these claims. What enforces them, what Neoma does not control, and how to check it yourself, see Confidentiality guarantees.
